Snowflakes

Snowflakes are wonderful things. They are all similar, yet no two are exactly alike. I remember as a kid trying to catch them on my tongue. It was so much fun! Snowflakes are also small and delicate. One snowflake really doesn’t amount to much. If you catch one, it will melt and be gone in a second. Even during a snow storm, they can disappear as fast as they come, either by melting or by wind, then the storm blows through, and pretty soon there isn’t any evidence at all of the snowflakes that were just there.
Sometimes though, it is different. The snowflakes fall a little faster… they fall a little bit longer… they begin to accumulate. When you wake up in the morning, you need to shovel your driveway. Perhaps the streets are covered as well. Then the sun comes out, and by late in the day, the snow is mostly gone. Then again, maybe not… maybe the snow fell even faster, for a longer time… High up in the mountains, accumulating to many, many feet. Enough snow, made up of individual snowflakes, to feed a river throughout a long, hot summer…
Money can be like snowflakes. A dollar here, a dollar there, and then gone, like they were never even there. However, you can take care that they don’t melt or get swept away. Let them accumulate… faster… longer… Soon, the money snowflakes will accumulate enough for something useful… like an emergency fund. Let them accumulate more, and they can cover a car, maybe a down payment on a house. Let the money snowflakes accumulate long enough, and they can build into a money snow pack big enough to feed you a river of cash for a long, long time.
Like snowflakes, sometimes there isn’t any cash coming down to accumulate. When there isn’t any snow falling, sometimes it is necessary to seed the clouds. Likewise, when there isn’t extra money falling on you, you need to seed your financial clouds. To produce more snow, clouds are seeded with silver iodide or dry ice. To produce more money, you will seed your personal financial cloud with your own time and talent. It takes time and patience, but it will work. The good news is, in this Internet age, it has never been easier to leverage your time and talent to create a cash snowfall. Keep coming back and we’ll discover together how it can be done.
Cheers,
Ken
